GEO

People now ask ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google’s AI Overviews instead of scrolling ten blue links. Those engines read, summarise and cite a small handful of sources. Generative Engine Optimization is the work that makes your brand one of them.

Why Align

Four things that decide how the work turns out.

We measure citations, not vibes

We ask the engines the questions your buyers ask, log who gets cited, and re-run it on a schedule. You see the answer change or you see that it did not.

GEO sits on top of real SEO

Crawlable, fast, well-structured pages are the entry fee. We do that work too, so GEO is not being bolted onto a site the engines struggle to read.

We rewrite the pages closest to the line

Not a site-wide rewrite. The pages already surfacing for your topics get the work first, because that is where a citation is one edit away.

Written to be quoted

Clear claims, named sources, stated expertise. A model lifts the passage it can stand behind, and that is a writing problem before it is a technical one.

What we deliver

SEO got you ranked. GEO gets you quoted.

In practice

What the work looks like up close.

Made legible to the machines

Clean structure, schema that matches the page, and answers written where an engine can lift them. That is what gets you quoted instead of merely crawled.

  • Answer blocks
  • Entity clean-up

Written so a model can stand behind it

Specific claims, named sources, stated expertise. An engine quotes the passage it can be accountable for, which makes this a writing problem first.

  • Answer-first copy
  • Named sources
  • Stated expertise

How it actually runs.

( 01 )

Discovery and search goals

We start with your brand, your audience, and the questions you want to be the answer to.

( 02 )

AI search audit

We ask the engines about your category and record who they cite today, and why.

( 03 )

Entity and topic mapping

We define the topics, services and expertise you should own, so engines connect them to your name.

( 04 )

Content structure for retrieval

Headings, summaries and internal links, shaped so a model can lift a clean answer out of the page.

( 05 )

Machine-readable markup

Schema and metadata that state plainly what your pages are and who stands behind them.

( 06 )

Trust and proof signals

Specifics, sources and named authorship. Engines quote what looks accountable.

( 07 )

Rewrites where they pay

The pages closest to being cited get rewritten first, not the whole site at once.

( 08 )

Citation tracking

We re-ask the engines on a schedule and report where you now appear, and where you still do not.

( 09 )

Continuous improvement

AI search changes month to month. The work keeps pace with it.

Questions

Asked often enough to answer here.

What is GEO, and how is it different from SEO?

SEO works to rank a page in a list of links. Generative Engine Optimization works to get your content retrieved and quoted inside an AI answer, where there is no list. The groundwork overlaps; the structure, the proof points and the way facts are stated do not.

Do we still need SEO if we do GEO?

Yes, and GEO does not work without it. AI engines lean on the same crawlable, well-structured, credible pages that search has always rewarded. GEO is the layer on top: it decides whether a model can lift a clean answer out of a page it already trusts.

How do you measure whether GEO is working?

We track how often your brand and your pages are cited in AI answers for the questions that matter to your business, and which competitor shows up when you do not. That sits alongside the usual search and traffic reporting.

Our impressions are flat but clicks keep falling. Is that GEO?

Often, yes. When an AI summary answers the question at the top of the page, people stop clicking through. You keep the impression and lose the visit. The response is to become part of that summary rather than the link below it.

How long before we see anything?

Structural work shows up in the engines within weeks, because they re-crawl often. Becoming the cited source for a competitive question takes months, and depends on how much authority you already have on the topic.

Can you guarantee we will be cited?

No, and nobody can. The engines do not publish their ranking logic and they change it without notice. What we can do is track where you stand today, fix the reasons you are not being quoted, and show you the movement.
