Mission
ALKF+ is an major award-wining architectural firm in Hongkong with 200 staffs. As an architectural firm, they consider aesthetics as one of the key operating component. However, ALKF+ website is rather outdated and cannot portrait the trend-setting aspect which an architectural company should have.
Therefore, they came to us looking for a new website design that can better reflects their story and nature.
Challenge
The main challenge we had to face is ALKF+ busy schedule and how they work. Architects spend the majority of their time in studio chasing after deadline. They will continue commenting and updating their work till the very last minute before the deadline. Thus, it was difficult to get them to sit down and review the process together.
To deal with this, we have to have very clear brief in the beginning that summarize all their references and ideas. This brief served as a guideline that the designer and project manager can refer back to direct the process.
The second thing that we did is set a fixed meeting time for the whole team to be able to sit down and exchange the difficulty of the process. Architects often work as a team. So when we have many people pouring comments into the project, it is very important that we sit down and filter the feedback.
We also share our real-time prototype through Figma that simulates the actual website. This helps them visualize and more comfortable to make the decision.
All deadlines have to be communicated very clearly with a set time and date.
Outcome
After a year long delay on the client side, we finally reach the final destination with this beautiful website that everyone was pleased with.
Impacts
This new modern website has help ALKF+ improve the onsite traffic by 30%. The new website has given ALKF+ more confidence to meet potential clients and reach out to a larger audience.
